The Thousand
Islands Inn has been honored many times for dining excellence. It is
one of only four restaurants in New York State to receive the
2007 Golden Fork Award of the Gourmet Dinners Society of North
America, attesting to its widely respected excellence in fine dining.
Other awards include the Silver Spoon Award of the
Gourmet Dinners Club of America and a special proclamation by the Governor's
Chamber of New York State. Thousand Islands Inn also holds
the highest rating of all area restaurants by both AAA
and Mobil Travel Guide. It was featured as one of New
York State's most outstanding restaurants in the August 2000 edition of
Gourmet magazine and highlighted in the 2002 edition of
the New York State Dept. of Commerces' gourmet dining publication "Vine
& Dine."
Dining at the
Inn is a pleasure enjoyed by both local folks and visitors from across
the United States and Canada and around the world. The Inn's varied dinner menu offers Prime Rib,
broiled steaks and chops, and broiled, fried and sauteed veal, poultry,
seafoods, local fresh water fish and wild game. In addition to our
regular menu, the dining room also features a special "Early Bird" menu for
diners seated between 5 and 6 P.M. and nightly gourmet dinner specials
served throughout the evening. Full service breakfasts are
offered on Saturday and Sunday mornings and complimentary Continental
breakfast is offered
our rooming
guests every morning.
On an
historical note, the Inn is also where popular
Thousand Island Dressing was first served to the dining
public back in the early 1900's. Needless to say, Thousand
Island is the official house dressing at the Thousand Islands
Inn. The Inn also bottles its own 'Original'
recipe of this popular condiment, making this the most unique of all
1000 Islands souvenirs for visitors to take home to share with friends
and family. The dressing sells for $6.95 for a 16 oz. bottle and is
available
at the Inn throughout the operating season and on line throughout the
year.
For those
lazy afternoons and evenings after a fun-filled day in the "Islands",
there is no better place to relax than the Inn's Lounge. Decorated in a
rustic Early American decor, the lounge's offerings include over 150
kinds of imported and domestic wines, beers, ales, "spirits" and
cordials.
While
enjoying your favorite beverage in air-conditioned comfort,
you will enjoy watching, by the hour, the many ships from around the
world
that pass by the Inn, only a few hundred yards off shore, through the
St.
Lawrence Seaway.
The
conversation and hospitality that abounds in the lounge has made the
Inn one of the most popular social gathering places in all of the 1000
Islands.
