| The Whiskey Island Shore Breakfast Legend says that during prohibition Clayton "rum-runners" would hide out on nearby Whiskey Island during the night and fish while awaiting the "drop" from their Canadian counterparts. When the drop was overdue and they grew hungry, they would row to a nearby farm on Grindstone Island, get fresh eggs, potatoes and bread, return and cook up this meal on the north shore of the island, unseen from the mainland.
