Package "B" - 4 Days/3 Nights Bike touring is one of
the most exciting and fun ways to see the beauty of the Thousand
Islands region. Enjoy the scenic countryside, bike along the river and
view the islands and huge ships from around the world.
Bikers are welcomed at the Inn and we offer
secure, inside overnight storage for your bikes. If you don't bring
your own bike and would
still like to go biking, quality bikes can be rented in Clayton at
reasonable hourly and daily rates. This unique
package is suitable for bikes of all kinds and bikers of every
endurance level. Biking routes include
trips along the Seaway Trail, an American Byway, to historic Cape
Vincent and the NYS Great Lakes Fisheries Aquarium and on to Tibbett's
Point Lighthouse, where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River (36
mis. return) and the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center via the Thousand Islands Bridge (walk
across) and then tour either
Wellesley
Island, the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center or even bike to Hill
Island, Ontario to the 1000 Islands Skydeck for
a bird's eye view of the islands (bike bell & proper personal
identification are necessary to enter Canada). Your return to the U.S.
mainland and Clayton take you
right past the Thousand Islands Winery where you can stop for a winery
tour and wine sampling (32-40
mis.
return).
If you are really an adventurer, you can even rent a boat
and cross the river to nearby
Grindstone Island for a day of island touring and a riverside picnic
lunch at
a one of the two NYS state parks on the island (25 mis. on the island
plus 4 mi. boat trip, return).
Other options include the Antique Boat Museum, the 1000
Islands Museum and an evening at the Clayton Opera House, for an
exceptional variety of musical, comedy and theatrical entertainment,
all right in downtown Clayton.
